How to check your prostate health in 3 easy steps
As men age, it is common for the prostate to gradually swell. Because of its location underneath the bladder around the urethra, the enlarged prostate often causes urinary problems, such as nighttime bathroom trips or a weak urine stream. Among many ways urologists assess prostate health, IPSS and uroflowmetry are the two initial tests urologists often perform.
IPSS (International Prostate Symptom Score) is an eight-question screening test used to rapidly diagnose and assess the symptoms of an enlarged prostate. The higher the number, the more severe your symptoms are.
Uroflowmetry measures the flow of urine. It tracks how fast urine flows, how much urine comes out, and how long it takes. The faster your urine stream is, the healthier your prostate is.
Combining these two results gives a good estimate of your prostate health status*. Here is an easy way to check your prostate health:
1) Download proudP to your smartphone.
2) Take the IPSS test in proudP.
3) Measure uroflow in proudP.

After taking the IPSS and uroflow tests in proudP, check your results.
If the IPSS score is 8 or higher and the Max Flow Rate is less than 15, it is recommended to consult with your doctor.
If the IPSS score is 8 or higher and the Max Flow Rate is less than 10, it is strongly recommended to consult with a urologist.
