DelightRoom strategically invests in the digital healthcare startup 'Soundable Health.'
The global morning wellness app 'Alami,' operated by DelightRoom, has strategically invested in the digital healthcare startup 'Soundable Health.' The amount of investment remains undisclosed.
Soundable Health is a startup developing sound analysis technology capable of measuring various illnesses. It utilizes artificial intelligence (AI) to analyze sounds such as urination and coughing collected by smartphones to determine the severity of illnesses. In the U.S. market, the male urinary tract management app service 'ProudP,' classified as a Class 2 medical device by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in 2020, the automatic measurement of urination volume and urination diary app 'Bladderly,' and the respiratory disease management app service 'Coughy' are currently distributed. Soundable Health is gaining attention for its ability to allow patients and healthcare professionals to monitor and manage illnesses without separate equipment, as well as for its ability to secure real-world data (RWD) and real-world evidence (RWE) in the treatment process in the pharmaceutical/medical device industry.
DelightRoom plans to discuss technical collaboration with Soundable Health following this investment. Enhancement of the 'sleep analysis function' embedded in Alami is a prominent collaboration point. The sleep analysis function analyzes user sleep breathing patterns using only the smartphone's microphone sensor to measure sleep quality. DelightRoom expects to provide more specialized analysis services in Alami by introducing Soundable Health's sound analysis technology in the future.
DelightRoom CEO Shin Jaemyung, who made the investment decision, stated, "By integrating Soundable Health's sound analysis technology into the 'sleep analysis function' of the global leading morning wellness app Alami, we will advance service enhancement into more specialized areas," adding, "In the future, DelightRoom will expand not only wellness services that can be conveniently used in daily life like Alami but also enter the professional healthcare field to deliver more value to users."
Soundable Health CEO Song Jiyoung, representing the investee, said, "The large-scale sleep data generated daily by global users of Alami is an important resource that can further enhance Soundable Health's sound analysis function," and expressed hope that "this investment will lead to a constructive partnership that strengthens both companies' product and technological competitiveness and expands new businesses on the global stage."
In February, DelightRoom collaborated with the Department of Artificial Intelligence Convergence at Hanyang University ERICA to add a 'snoring detection function' to the Alami sleep analysis function. After the sleep analysis, users can obtain information about the timing and intensity of snoring. With the development of this technology, the sleep analysis function now not only analyzes various sleep patterns directly related to sleep quality such as deep sleep, light sleep, and REM sleep but also confirms snoring, the biggest factor disrupting deep sleep.
