Efficacy of New BPH Surgery measured by proudP

A patient with severe BPH symptoms scored 23 points in IPSS and has undergone Aquablation Therapy. Two home uroflow tests before and after the therapy showed that the Peak Flow Rate (Qmax) doubled from 9.8 ml/s to 19.5 ml/s at the same voided volume, within a few days!

Accordingly, Voiding Time and Flow Time were significantly reduced as the Peak Flow Rate improved. Voiding Time shortened from 66.5 seconds to 18.9 seconds, meaning one who spent more than a minute to empty his bladder now just completes it with less than 20 seconds. Frequent urination during daytime and nighttime bathroom trips have been well aware. Voiding Time is under addressed but one of the top complaints of BPH by patients and their partners.

The uroflow curve also indicates that before the therapy, the patient's urine flow was intermittent, meaning it was stop-and-go with 11.6 seconds of difference between Voiding Time and Flow Time. The patient now has a perfect bell curve with no interruption with the same Voiding and Flow Time!

What would be the next therapy early next week? More uroflow outcomes after MISTs, various procedures and BPH medications to come soon!
